These guiding principles are ten principles our employees seek to demonstrate to all of our clients.

Dr. Jonathan Hartiens

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Jonathan Hartiens is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. He has over 30 years experience and developed expertise in the treatment of addictions. In addition to being a prominent therapist, he is frequently invited to speak at national conferences and general audiences on addiction treatment. Besides helping those who suffer with chemical addictions, he is also well known for treating sexual addictions. He was on the medical staff at the VAMC Medical Center, Martinsburg, from 2001 to 2011 where he worked at the Center for Addiction Treatment as both a psychologist and the Program Director. He’s authored and been awarded several grants to expand the range of addiction treatment into rural areas, including a $3 million grant used to build the Mountaineer Recovery Center, which is the first residential facility in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.

Dr. Hartiens history also includes his service as an active-duty Navy Psychologist from 1994 to 2001. He completed his doctoral internship at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He also served at Naval Hospital Groton, CT and Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily.

Dr. Hartiens is an interactive therapist who helps clients identify the specifics of the problem and the barriers to their solutions. His therapeutic approach is to provide compassion, understanding, and observations on destructive or unhealthy patterns of behavior. He integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client.

Dr. Hartiens is married to his wife of 29 years and has three children. He is a member of Independent Bible Church in Martinsburg, WV.

Mr. Harrison began his career in the criminal justice field as a Crisis Intervention Worker and Probation Officer for 12 years after graduating from Nyack College in Nyack, NY. After receiving a Masters in Counseling, and a Masters in Administration, he proceeded to open a private counseling practice in Williamsport, PA. Specializing in Marriage and Couples counseling, he authored and developed the model, Building Relationships That Last. He operated his practice until 1998. At that time Mr. Harrison accepted the position of Clinical Director and Executive Director of the Bethesda Family Services Foundation in Lewisburg, PA.

After 12 very successful years of creating, implementing and running therapeutic and behavioral programs across the country, Mr. Harrison accepted the position of Human Services Administrator in Tioga County, PA. where he received the Governors Affiliate of the Year award in approving Block Grant funding for Human Services. As a result, funding became available for all branches of Human Services and eliminated waiting lists that had existed for years.

Moving on to accept another challenging position, Mr. Harrison accepted the role as Assistant Director of Human Services in Loudoun County, VA., overseeing Developmental Services, Early Intervention and Community Based Services. While there, he helped advance cutting edge evidence-based services to one of the fastest growing and diverse populations in the country.

Upon learning about the new opportunity at the Mountaineer Recovery Center in March of 2019, Mr. Harrison was excited to accept the position of the Chief Operations Officer overseeing the new Substance Use Disorder Residential Treatment Program in Kearneysville, WV. Mr. Harrison and his wife Joette currently reside in Martinsburg WV, and are members of The Crossroads Church in Martinsburg, WV.

Brandt Williamson became involved in addiction care as an Emergency Physician who recognizing a serious deficiency in the communities ability to combat a growing opioid problem in 2016. As with all ED physicians, we step into a void and provide care until the system catches up to community needs. He educated himself with online resources and ASAM conferences, and stepped out of the ER to include community outpatient care, using the ED as a launchpad while continuing, after ED discharge, to provide care to many of these patients with outpatient MAT according to the West Virginia COAT model. Brandt lives in rural Virginia and is married to his wife Martha. They have three children. He has practiced community Emergency Medicine for 25 years and is Chief Medical Officer for Mountaineer Recovery Center.

Clinical Chief

Kristen Vorlaufer-Brightful, LCSW-C, LICSW is a graduate of University of Maryland, Baltimore where she received her masters degree in social work with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health. Kristen has over 10 years experience working with all age groups who have a range of needs to include mental health and substance use disorders. Kristen is a Licensed Certified Social Worker Clinical in Maryland and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in West Virginia. She is also a board approved supervisor in both Maryland and West Virginia and has been providing clinical supervision to professionals in the field for the past 5 years. Kristen is an experienced clinician who has had extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and is highly skilled in crisis intervention. Ms. Brightful is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Jan Augusta is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Mountaineer Recovery Center and President of Healthcare Advocates for Recovery. She previously served as the Substance Use Recovery Coordinator for WVU Medicine where she and Dr Brandt Williamson created an innovative Bridge Program for Medication Assisted Treatment and coordination. In the fall of 2019, she received the 40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leader award.

Sandy Camilletti

Chief Financial Officer

Supports daily operations at the Mountaineer Recovery Center as the Chief Financial Officer. She is a native West Virginian and has lived in the Eastern Panhandle for 27 years. She received her EMBA from West Virginia University and is also certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Sandy’s background includes supporting mission at the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center that included the office of Program Evaluation, Research and the Chief of Staff’s Office. In addition, Sandy acted as a certified mediator in the West Virginia Family Court System and was an adjunct professor at Shepherd University.

Hospitality Chief

From 1991 to 2017 he worked at Shepherd University, moving up from a part time catering employee to the Assistant Food Service Director of Dining/Executive Chef. It was a unique experience filled with tremendous learning opportunities and he enjoyed the challenges in creating new ideas and concepts on a very limited budget. In the fall of 2014 he felt a calling to leave Shepherd Dining and move into a more community based natural and organic setting, in 2016 he found such a place, a community market located at the other end of town. So in January 2017 he left collegiate food-service to take co-ownership of the Community Garden Market of Shepherdstown. In 2019 the opportunity to join Mountaineer Recovery Center as Hospitality Chief became the next phase of his life and Gods preparations through his various endeavors prepared him for his new journey.
